Rules & Regulations


Ticket Purchasers and any other persons named on a ticket must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets must be purchased within the province of Ontario and cannot be mailed outside of Ontario. Only tickets that have been paid and verified as paid prior to the final sales deadline are eligible. The Rules prohibit the following individuals and all persons residing in the same household as these individuals from purchasing a ticket: Employees, Directors and Leadership Volunteers of the Burlington Sound of Music Festival Inc. and/or The Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation and employees of licensed gaming suppliers for this Lottery.

By purchasing a ticket with the Burlington Sound of Music Festival inc. (the “Festival” or “Licensee”) for the Burlington Sound of Music Festival 50/50 Draw Lottery 2019 (the “Lottery”), the Purchaser acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these rules and regulations (“Rules”). “Purchaser” means a person: (i) purchasing a ticket(s) for his/her personal use; (ii) purchasing a ticket(s) on behalf of a group where the purchaser’s name and up to two additional names and/or a group name appear on all ticket(s), or (iii) purchasing a ticket that is allocated to a group of which the Purchaser is not a member. The Purchaser’s name shall always appear as the first name on any ticket purchased. All Purchasers are subject to these rules. The Foundation has no obligation or liability to any person named on a ticket other than the Purchaser.


Tickets will be available for purchase until June 16, 2019, at 6:00pm. The total number of 50/50 tickets available for sale is 10,000. Tickets are $10 each. Ticket numbers will be issued in sequential order. The official ticket is a receipt of purchase. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible. Only one method of payment may be used per order. Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, the total liability of the Foundation to any Purchaser shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

Any requests to change the name on an official ticket must be received prior to the draw date.

Prize Details

The winner of the 50/50 will be awarded with half the 50/50 accumulated jackpot.


The draw will take place at the Burlington Sound of Music Festival in Spencer Smith Park, 1400 Lakeshore Blvd. Burlington, Ontario. Tickets will be drawn using a standard tumbler style drum. An impartial volunteer over the age of 18 will draw ONE (1) winning ticket from the drum which will be presented to the Emcee. Prize draws follow the licensing terms and conditions set by the licensing body, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Prize Winner Notification

The winners of draws will be notified in writing by the Burlington Sound of Music Festival inc and may also be contacted by phone. The Prize notification letter will be addressed to the Purchaser. The winner name will be posted on the Burlington Sound of Music Festival website at www.soundofmusic.ca and on social media.

The Festival is only responsible for communicating with the Purchaser and is not responsible for any prize entitlement of any other individual(s).

Prize Claim

The Prize will be awarded to the Purchaser named on the official ticket. By claiming a prize, the prize winner consents to the use of their likeness (photograph, if available), first and last name, ticket number, city or town of residence and transcription/recording of the winner notification phone call to be used for any publicity purposes by the Foundation. Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for delivery of Prize from final draw date.

To claim the prize, two copies of government issued photo ID are required and the winner shall be required to execute a waiver in a form to be determined by the Festival, releasing the Festival and its directors, officers, and affiliates and all others described in the said form of all liability in relation to the prize awarded. This must be returned to the Foundation before a prize can be claimed. Prize must be claimed no later than twelve (12) months after the final draw date. Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation to the Festival will be approved by the Municipality.


We are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. We will use your personal information to administer and evaluate the Lottery, including contacting, announcing and promoting Prize winners. In addition, we may use this information to send you festival-related communications and for tax receipting purposes, where required. Occasionally, we may contact you with mission-related or program-related communications.
