Sound of Music Festival is excited to announce The Offspring, along with LIVE will be headlining the Kick-Off Concert, a ticketed event that launches a week of free music on Burlington’s Waterfront. The concert offers a one day, one stage show with more bands to be announced in the coming weeks. The Kick-Off Concert will be held on Saturday, June 10th with gates opening at 1:00 pm, show ending at 11:00 pm. Tickets are $60 + fees/tax, purchase at soundofmusic.ca now, price will go up.
The Offspring made up of Dexter Holland (vocals, guitar), Noodles (guitar), Greg K (bass) and Pete Parada (drums), are one of rock’s most exciting and enduring bands. The Offspring have performed over 1100 shows across the globe and sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Their 1994 release Smash remains the highest-selling album of all-time on an independent label. The original line-up of LIVE, Ed Kowalczyk (vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (guitar, backing vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums, percussion), have reunited for a worldwide tour this year and are known as one of the most potent alternative rock acts.
“We’re very excited to have these bands to Burlington and put on a show of this calibre, the success of previous Kick-Off concerts is an indication that our fans keep coming for the music,” says Dave Miller, Executive Director. “This is just the beginning for the Kick-off concert, there is still a whole afternoon of music to be announced!” says the Festival’s Programming Chair.
The Festival is currently recruiting for volunteers. See soundofmusic.ca/volunteers for further information if you are interested in applying. The free Father’s Day Weekend concert line-up for June 15-18 will be announced April 27, 2017
