About the Artist

They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for this psychedelic rock band from Burlington/Hamilton. Composed of a group of inspirational musicians and skillful performers, Wooly mantis is a group with big ambitions and a unique sound. Known for their timeless song writing and exceptional musicianship, they are marked as the next great Canadian band to watch. Members Daniel, Matt, James and Dave have been playing music since they were young and when faced with a career decision, each opted to study music at Mohawk College. It was there they were introduced and started to collaborate as songwriters. 2 years later, countless shows, festivals, and international radio play, Wooly Mantis continues to grow their fan base all while remaining completely independent. Drawing from influences such as Rush, The Eagles and Frank Zappa they create a signature sound that is Wooly Mantis — part prog rock, part funk, part psychedelic. As they grow, they continue to connect with fans with their distinct, musical style.
