About the Artist
Together, Hayley Verrall and Nick Begg make up The Luttrells Band.
Hayley Verrall is a driven, passionate and eclectic award winning (OCMAI 2018, NACMAI 2019, 2019 Reader’s Choice Gold) country singer/songwriter from Burlington, Ontario. Hayley’s voice has been compared to those of Patsy Cline and Roseanne Cash, a reflection of the distinct and pure tones she inserts into every melody she sings while providing superb self-accompaniment on guitar. Hayley is a well known and popular musician in Burlington and the Halton region.
Nick Begg is an accomplished percussionist whose inspiration initially grew out of the progressive electronic and jazz genres. His love for creative music has led him to constantly develop his sound and look at the ideals of music, society and enlightenment from a different angle. Hence came his affection for country and bluegrass music.
This dynamic duo, who have only been playing together a short time, bring a fresh and unique style to both new and classic country tunes, as well as to original bluegrass and country songs. The original songs can be described as contemplative, yet bold and fun. The melodies are catchy and dynamic and the lyrics are sassy and real, easily engaging listeners and inviting participation.
The Luttrells have performed at Jersey’s, Williams Fresh Café, Starving Artist Café (Brantford), Sounds of Summer (Milton), Black Swan Tavern (Toronto), Basso (Toronto), Death Valley’s Little Brother (Waterloo) and were regular faces at the Burlington Farmer’s Market last summer.
